Chief Executive Officer at World Green Organisation
Dr. William Yu is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of World Green Organisation. He is an energy economist and climate professional by training and completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge. He earned an Executive MBA degree from the Thunderbird Global Management School, Arizona State University in the U.S.
Dr. Yu is currently Director of Studies of a UK University, supervising doctoral research on ESG performance of middle and small capitalizations of listed companies. He has been the Adjunct Professor of several local universities and the Faculty of Hong Kong Green Building Council, giving lectures on Carbon Neutrality, Green Finance and Sustainability. Dr. Yu had gained valuable regional management experience by working at the US multinationals and a financial banking institution.
Dr. Yu is ESBN Task Force Member (Green Economy, Digital Economy), The Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), the United Nations. He also serves as Vice-Chair of Asia Pacific Business Forum (APBF) of the United Nations ESBN 2022. He is a registered Consultant of the Asia Development Bank (ADB). In Hong Kong, Dr. Yu serves in the Sustainable Development Council (HK Decarbonization Strategy) under the Environment Bureau, HKSAR Government. Dr. Yu belongs to Green Tech Fund Assessment Committee, and a Member of the Appeal Board Panel, Town Planning Board. He also serves as Deputy Chairman of Judging Panel of Smart Living Award, The HK ICT Awards. Dr. Yu is currently Vice-chairman of HK Institute of Social Impact Analysts. He also serves as the Chairman of the Judging Panel of BDO ESG Awards. Dr. Yu is also appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of a publicly listed company. He has established an ESG-focused Accelerator Programme for the start-ups in collaboration with Cyberport HK and built several green tech start-ups. Dr. Yu has recently been appointed as a member of the Aviation Development and Three-runway System Advisory Committee (ADTAC) under the Transport and Housing Bureau.
Dr. Yu is currently working with Ove Arup & Partners and Pricewaterhouse Coopers on the transition framework to TCFD (The Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures) for the key corporations in Hong Kong.
Mr. Angus
Yip
ESG Advisor at World Green Organisation
Angus studied in the U.K. and obtained double Master Degrees from the University of Cambridge (Sustainability Leadership) and Lancaster University (Accounting & Finance).
Angus also obtained a Master Degree in Management from Harvard University and a graduate certificate in “Corporate Sustainability and Innovation” (Harvard).
He has more than 30 years’ hands-on corporate banking and asset management working experience. He has been working with listed companies on their ESG reporting since 2015.
Angus is Adjunct Associate Professor at Hong Kong University SPACE and is the Founding Chairman of International Chamber of Sustainable Development.
